Owls closing in on Algerian international

Madjid Bougherra is poised to complete a ?300,000 move to Sheffield Wednesday. The 23-year-old defender spent the second half of last season on loan at Crewe Alexandra from French side Gueugnon. His displays at Gresty Road sparked interest from a number of clubs, with Birmingham City the latest to be linked. Owls boss Paul Sturrock is in pole position to do a deal however as he begins his strengthening for next season.

Not really, not when he had a chance to play in the Premier League or at least a top Championship team.

At least Hameur Bouazza will play the English Premier League next year. His Watford Hornets defeated Leeds United 3-0 today in the Championship playoff final in Cardiff to get the last promotion spot. :D

Boast about this:

According to a number of Algerian newspaper, Real Madrid is considering ES Setif's 21-year old midfielder Lazhar Hadj Aissa. Hadj Aissa, who has already played for the senior national team, has been one of the top players in the Algerian league, and has impressed in international duty with the U21 and Senior national team. Real Madrid have not released any official statements concerning the trial.

The reports have now been confirmed by Spanish media. However, Real Madrid is looking to sign him to their youth/reserve team (La Castilla), which is not bad since they play in the Spanish second division. He was recommended by Zinedine Zidane who regularly watches the Algerian league.

Ouadah Signs 3-Year Deal With Sedan

FC Metz midfielder Abdelnasser Ouadah has signed a 3-year deal with newly promoted Sedan. The 30-year old midfielder had a good season with Metz scoring 2 goals in 28 appearances. However, the squad could not avoid relegation. His signature to Sedan, who already posses Algerian internationals Mansour Boutabout and Nadir Belhadj, could signal his return to the Algerian national team. Ouadah has just one cap with Algeria before leaving the team after a dispute with the head coach. Ouadah has 131 appearances in Ligue 1 with Nancy, Ajaccio and Metz.

Youngster Attracting Major Interest In France

A relative unknown 17-year old is being closely watched by a number of French clubs as he continues to impress scouts. 17-year old striker Kader Sebbah, who plays for Division 5 club ASM Belfort, is being linked with a number of clubs including 5-time defending champions Olympique Lyon, AJ Auxerre and FC Bale (Switzerland). However, it seems like FC Sochaux has the best shot at signing and word is that the young Oran-native will sign a 3-year deal with them. He just finished a 3-day trial with the club that was more than conclusive.
