Algeria to face Burkina Faso for a place in the 2014 FIFA World Cup

The draw for the final round of African qualifiers for the 2014 FIFA World Cup was held today at the CAF headquarters in Cairo, Egypt, with Algeria drawing 2013 Africa Cup of Nations finalists Burkina Faso.

The Desert Foxes will have the advantage of the playing the return leg at home, with the first scheduled for October 11-15 in Burkina Faso. The two sides are well acquainted with each other, having met in a friendly match in June, with Algeria winning the match 2-0.

Algeria was the last team to be drawn during the ceremony, which saw pit Ivory Coast against Senegal, Ghana against Egypt, Ethiopia against Nigeria and Tunisia against Cameroon.
