What can my enemies possibly do to me? My paradise is in my heart; wherever I go it goes with me, inseparable from me. For me, prison is a place of (religious) retreat; execution is my opportunity for martyrdom; and exile from my town is but a chance to travel ......

I like that Banner Beebo! But let me ask you this....did you just take a random picture of the kids from the internet? Because that could be a source of legal problems if you don't have their permission to use their photo (in their case they're underage too so you would need their legal guardian's permission....). Maybe you could put a cartoon of muslim kids....

I tried searching a little bit of background about orphans and orphanages in Algeria. I unfortunetly found just a couple of articles depicting the difficutly of adopting in algeria. In an article of ElWatan (2005), they describe how the desire to adopt is gradually growing in algeria. More and more families want to help out by offering a new family to these kids. For example, in Constantine they receive about 300 potential cases for adoption and only about a third of those cases (80-100) are accepted. The problem lies then with the formalities and procedures not with the desire to adopt (Some couples cannot have kids...). The families are all subjected to thorough investigation. They look at their economic profile but also social profile; age is also an important factor.

http://www.afrik.com/article8460.html

I confirmed the lack of information in an other article published by the magharebia.com website. According to this article, the asssociations and the Ministere de la Solidarit nationale have no clue about the number of orphans in Algeria (they didnt even bother putting them in the "recensement national"). But we know that their numbers keep growing, based on the fact that there are about 3000 single mothers who give birth each year, and living with a child out of wedlock in algeria is a very difficult task, so most of the time they weill give them up.
They also talk about SOS-Kinderdorf and how it was created after the 1980 Chlef earthquake. They discuss their future projects. They wish to also help orphan young adults in accomplishing something good in life (we only talk about the cute kids, but what about that angry teenager with no one to guide him?)

http://www.magharebi...04/reportage-01

I need a break for now...this is too much of a sensitive subject. But i will keep looking for potential statistics.

Regarding the leaflet, I don't have an experience for it but I think it should contains the following elements:

1- Ayat and Ahadeeth that encourage ppl to donate and take care of orphans :

36

( )

2- A good picture like this one :

or this one:

ou encore celle l :

3- A small and targeted message that explains what we are aiming for.

4- and finally, the e-dz banner.

yes I will let you know Insha'Allah Fato @ meeting [should be in a couple of days Insha'Allah]

and I Like W001's idea , my idea for the leaflet is very close to his but Ayaat and Hadiths in English [ + translation] , though I was gonna add a couple of things , like e-mils and phone numbers that ppl can reach for sure ya3nnie contact info , one of the guys I work with in Le Souk does great leaflets , I was planning to ask him to do this for us when I see him again Insha'Allah , he studied publicity so he's good at designing leaflets and stuff , hope I'd find him lol.

We should make it simple but also colourful to get people's attention , big letters Text and images , make it look good and different.

sorry for my late reply , my connection has also been fasting these days lol.

P.S. I Love the banner , looks great Masha'Allah!

Barakallahu feek Sosso for the research. I was hoping we can get our hands on some factual numbers. It's dissapointing that Algerians still can't have a functioning Department of Statistics.

With regards to your research, I believe the number of Orphan kids has bypassed the 100,000 mark. Which is sad and worrying at the same time. It is infact a good thing that more couples are coming forward to adopt kids but, from what I've seen in Algeria, some couples are going for a surrogacy where for example a relative couple become pregnant with the intention of handing over the new born to the impotent couple. The impotent couple usually pay for the expenses and labour costs for the expecting mother. It is heart breaking at times to see this happening because no matter what the intentions are, no mother would easily give up her child.

mashallah , that's really so so beautiful , Rabi yjazik kheir Fatony and all the team working behind. I'll spread the info inshallah on facebook and all , I really hope this project will succeed. bi tawfiq.

Just a small remark : can we put a direct contact (phone n , mail)? I mean a foreign person will not need to register to the forum, reply to the topic , to be able to donate . try to see about it . If you think its not necessary , it's okey.

Good luck !
