Hello, I have a question concerning Chimotherapy users whether they can or not use Herbal therapy at the same time. As you know most people love to argue while most of the time they do not know about it, while many people said it hurts, I found this website that says Herbal Medicine reduces Chimotherapy side effects. I really need an answer for this question as soon as possible, if you know a good doctor or therapists who use natural and herbal medication, can you please get me the answer?

Ahleen :D

For chemotherapy, different drugs are used, and the side effects are possible, so not everyone experiences them.
Reading this, in my opinion, if different people do react differently to the drugs being used in chemo., their reaction to herbal treatments will be different too- depending on the side effects they have.
Honey and habba al saouda have proven to do miracles, especially if the patient follows a particular routine..

Maybe the herbal treatments patients take could interfere with the drug being used..

Other than that Allahou a3lam, I'll try speaking to some people though see if they have any info nchAllah..

Meriem, you need to slightly clear your question.
Firstly, what kind of cancer is the patient suffering from. Secondly, at what stage is this cancer?
Herbal medicine is useless when the cancer is at an advanced stage. Any herbal doctor would tell you this.

Cancer is broken down into two categories. Malign and Benign.

Question: What the difference between malignant and benign?Answer: Malignant and benign are medical terms that are often confused with the other.

Malignantis cancerous. Malignant tumors can invade and destroy nearby tissue and spread to other parts of the body.
Benign is not cancerous. Benign tumors may grow larger but do not spread to other parts of the body.

Now, herbal medicine would work on Benign cancer at any stage during the treatment, even if the patient is undergoing Chimotherapy. However, the herbal doctor will ask you to seek the permission of your GP before you take any herbal mixture.

As for Malignant cancer, if it is not caught at the right time, unfortunately Chimotherapy would just slow down the spread and the person would eventually die.

I recently visited a herbal doctor and he has given me 2 of his books which speak a lot about this. I'll take a look through them to see if there is an answer.

There are people with experience and people with opinions. Listen to one, smile at the other.

ihhh hadi tekhroj 3liya. You know I have this fillipino in my gym. Every morning at 6, I find him sitting quietly meditating in the Sauna with his legs crossed. He stays like that for like 25 mins. Once I almost played Diddi Ft Cheb khaled but was afraid his towel might fall.

I've recently taken a liking to Chiropractice. have you guys heard of it?. It teaches you what muscles you need to flex to stop headaches, backaches... It's very beneficial.

Question: What the difference between malignant and benign?

Answer: Malignant and benign are medical terms that are often confused with the other.

Malignantis cancerous. Malignant tumors can invade and destroy nearby tissue and spread to other parts of the body.

Benign is not cancerous. Benign tumors may grow larger but do not spread to other parts of the body.

About.com and i thought u were smart... hhhhhhhhhhhm :P
BTW. the difference is not if they spead or don't spread its the fact that the malignant compete with organs for blood supply... ( if the organs dn't get enough blood supply they won't function properly will they?)
according to what i have studied cancer is a rapid creation of cells that grow beyond their usual boundaries, and which can then invade adjoining parts of the body and spread to other organs. rapid creation of cells means a TUMOUR and benigns are tomours so we can't exactly say that they're not cancers but we can say they're of the dead kind. a lot of the benign tumours don't have 100% characteristics of cancer cells but they do effect the health because they can squash blood vessels or cause excessive production of hormones if they were in the endocrine tissues. moles and warts are known as cancers and they are benign.

Now, herbal medicine would work on Benign cancer at any stage during the treatment, even if the patient is undergoing Chimotherapy. However, the herbal doctor will ask you to seek the permission of your GP before you take any herbal mixture.

benign tumours are very easy to treat and once they're gone there's a very small chance that they'll grow again so they don't even need chemotherapy.

As for Malignant cancer, if it is not caught at the right time, unfortunately Chimotherapy would just slow down the spread and the person would eventually die.

i know some one who had an operation to get the tumours removed, then they went for the chemotherapy to kill the rest of the cancer cells and any other micro-organisms...
the problem with chemotherapy is that it also kills the rest of the cells that divide quickly in normal conditions.

Good topic, i have an exam next week on this rubbish as well....... make ur next topic about antibodies and DNA!! :D
