salam,

Barbes lol, I remember the first time I went there, I thought I had discovered a shortcut to go to Algiers with no flight :P.

It's always a pleasure to see the number of Muslims in Western countries nowadays, but what need now is a quality of people who would represent Islam with its true values...Muslims are often stigmatized here in the west (à tort ou à raison) and problems such as delinquency, school failure and even drugs are associated with the descendants of muslim immigrants, "et force est de constater " that the Muslim elite are faaar from having the prestige and influence and the high positions of their jews counterparts.

I suggest for you guys to read this article in Tarek Ramadan's website :

Sorry but why arent the French government providing places to worship. There is an EU grants to fund the contruction of religious places. Muslims need to be active in using these things to their advantage
There are people with experience and people with opinions. Listen to one, smile at the other.

A good observation, muslims indeed should be more active in asking for their rights.

However, no matter what happens, we will always see muslims praying in the street, specially in crowded cities where there is no place to build new mosques, we even see it in most of muslim countries during jumu3a prayer.
