Bonjour,

The foot/inch system is mainly used in the United States not in "English". Lots of English speaking countries using the metric system (metres/cm) to indicate height. You can use the metric system just like in French and people will understand. Same thing for weight. In the US, they use pounds, while the rest of the world uses kilograms.

Why they did it? Ask the US, they feel the need to do everything differently. Example, they use miles for distance instead of kilometres.

I hope I answered your question.

For height -> He is 1.85 metres tall.

For weight -> He weighs 50 kilograms

If you want to use the other system (US system)

Height -> He is 6 foot 2 (or 6 foot 2 inches but you don't need to say inches)

Weight -> He weighs 150 pounds.

Hope that helps! If you want specific examples, write them in French and I'll translate in English.

Here's some history of why they use it in the US (in French) : http://fr.wikipedia....re_américaines

As for how to pronounce it, not sure how I can do that, I would just re-write it in English since it's my first language lol

Maybe someone else can help you with that
