10 Things Cooking Has Taught Me About Life

1. Small gestures can make a big difference.

2. Cheap thrills are closer than you think.

3. Control is overrated.

4. Sing if you must, but quit thinking so much.

5. There are always second chances.

6. Substance beats style every time.

7. We all have what it takes to create something.

8. Communicate, any way you can.

9. Your instinct may not be the best, but it’s yours.

10. Less really is more.

What can my enemies possibly do to me? My paradise is in my heart; wherever I go it goes with me, inseparable from me. For me, prison is a place of (religious) retreat; execution is my opportunity for martyrdom; and exile from my town is but a chance to travel ......

So much gaz is used for cooking in Algeria I'm not surprised that first aid procedures is a cook's best friend.

5. There are always second chances.

Not so much when you have a mom breathing down your neck to make you the perfect cook in preparation for your future with the in-laws

At the same time it teaches us that if our mothers didn't care about us they wouldn't bother to teach us smile

funny and true.. it's how culture and tradition is passed down.. unfortunately Algerians are losing more and more of it due to the fact that the young generation no longer care for it or their priorities have changed to the worse :(

All of my friends who recently got married [in 2012] did not know how to cook and are learning now after marriage, cooking is really not what people choose a wife for anymore. But I do think mothers should teach their children [men and women] how to cook though. Esp now cuz many UNI students don't study where they live and cant live off fast-food forever lol.
